Is it wrong of me that in the poly community here...

Is it wrong of me that in the poly community here on tumblr, I get really offended by some of the guys whose entire idea of polyamory seems to be hot threesomes with women who look like porn stars? Their blogs are all white women, perfectly waxed, perfectly thin, giving guys head or making out on top of a guy. It’s like… even though I don’t know anything about these guys’ personal lives, or how they treat the women they sleep with, I just get the impression (from their blogs alone) that their entire idea of polyamory is an excuse to feed their own needs and objectify and exploit women. It makes me feel sick to talk to them, or have them try to talk to me. Even if they’re just saying hi.

Maybe it’s just that to me, polyamory is about relationships first. And while sex is a part of those relationships, to focus SO MUCH on the sexual element, especially in a way that screams ”my ideas of sex comes from pornography and serving myself” just makes me feel gross, and makes me mad that you’re somehow degrading the love, the trust, the power of the relationships I have and that I know many others have with their partners by calling whatever it is you’re doing polyamory.

Highly prejudiced of me… but I just… eugh. Eugh eugh eugh. I needed to vent. I suppose.
